Day 4 - Leaves

Yesterday, I had my camera on completely manual mode and it proved to be a little much for me.  I thought that completely manual mode was the best way to see the interaction between aperture and shutter speed but it was just too difficult to tell what was causing what effect.

So today I put the camera in AV mode and played around with the shutter speed.  (Am I getting these terms right?  I know I messed them up yesterday.)  So this picture was taken with a shutter speed of 1/320, an F-stop of 6.3 and an ISO of 800.  It was taken with morning defused light and no flash.  It was also taken with my 50 mm lens.

I followed Whitman's lead on interpreting the theme for today.  

Day 2 (Smile) and Day 3 (Happiness)

So if I was going to be sick, this was a good week to do it.  Our photo challenge yesterday was "smile'; today is "happiness."  I was able to combine them in one photo shoot with my little bean.

This is the photo that I took for "smile."  It was taken with my Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens.  I used an f-stop of 1/4 and an aperture of 2.8.  The ISO was 800.

Wiggles started getting bored with me at this point.  I would have loved to play around with this a bit longer. He kept moving and so I had the darnedest time trying to capture anything.  This is a picture of him playing with his robot.  I have a few where his robot is more intelligible and his face is framed better; however, they are fuzzy due to his constant moving around.  I guess asking little bit to be a model for more than twenty minutes is just too much.

This one was also taken with an 1/4 f-stop, 2.8 aperture and a 800 ISO.  I used the same lens for this one as well.

Day One- Favorite Food

Here is a picture of little bit enjoying some hot chocolate.  He burned his tongue on some that was too hot the other day so his eyes show a great deal of trepidation.

I tried playing around with the F-stop on this one but, mostly, I just like the facial expression here.  And I actually think this might have been taken before I took the camera off of automatic setting.
